Eating Disorder Consultation

Consultation for Family and Loved Ones

Eating disorders affect not only the individual, but the people who care about them most. These illnesses are complex and often bring a mix of hope and uncertainty, especially because ambivalence about recovery is part of the disorder itself. Even though full recovery is possible, and it is, families and loved ones may feel unsure about how to help or where to begin.

Dr. Duffy offers one-hour, non-clinical phone consultations designed to provide clarity, reassurance, and practical guidance. These conversations are an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about eating disorders and how they affect those who struggle.

  • Explore ways to encourage treatment or support recovery with compassion.

  • Understand what steps may be most helpful moving forward.

These sessions are educational in nature and not a replacement for individual therapy. The goal is to give loved ones a stronger foundation, helping them feel less alone, more informed, and better equipped to walk alongside their family member on the path to healing.
