Eating Disorder Consultation
Consultation for family or loved ones
Eating disorders are complicated, multisystemic disorders that are often difficult to treat. One piece that makes eating disorders particularly challenging is that ambivalence toward recovery is inherent in the disorder. While a full recovery is possible and is always the goal, because of this ambivalence, loved ones often find themselves feeling helpless and unsure of where to start or how to best offer support.
This non-clinical consultation is offered for individuals interested in learning more about eating disorders and how to best help their loved one move toward treatment or how to support them in their recovery journey. This may also be a step in learning about treatment options and where to start. These consultations are offered as a one-hour phone call and are informational in nature only. The consultation is not intended to replace individual therapy and will focus on eating disorders in general and common processes that occur.
